• Hi All,

I hope somebody can provide me help with my issue as I am becoming quite desperate.

I want to set up a wordpress page where parts of it are restricted – so far, so good, there are tons of plugins out there that will do the job…

… however all of them have the same problem:
One of the links in the navigation leads to one of these restricted pages. the first time you click it all works well – you are redirected to the login page and then you are able to see the content. However, when you click the same link again, you are redirected to the wordpress dashboard.

Is there a way I can prevent that? All I want to do is keeping unknown users from accessing some parts of my website, however getting them redirected to the WP dashboard is quite counterproductive…

Thanks to all of you for your help in advance!

  • Do you have https/ssl implemented on your site? If so, chances are users aren’t being redirected correctly and you need to look into the ssl settings. It could also be a caching issue.

There are plugins to force SSL but this is really something that should be done in the server directly using the htaccess file. If you would share your htaccess file using pastebin.com as well as tell me your host I’ll tell you what you need to add/change to force SSL. Also, please provide a link to your site.
