• This plugin promises a lot but doesn’t work. It only adds all those promised fields in your medialibrary, but they are BLANK for you to manually fill in on a one pic at a time basis.

I checked my images in WP Media library. They all have keywords (added manually before uploading) and camera/basic EXIF included. None of these are displayed with the plugin in action. So, the plugin doesn’t actually “extract” any info as the authors states in the plugin description. The plugin simply adds the functionality for you to fill in everything, not in bulk.

I tried it with a new upload. The only info the plugin extracted was the name of the camera. No keywords were extracted!

Plus the plugin obviously lacks any Settings page, so you are stuck with all the fields there, even the ones you don’t actually need.

Huge disappointment! Wrong description that misleads people!

The plugin does work. It creates image taxonomies which are not part of a standard WordPress install and extracts the IPTC and XMP meta data of _newly uploaded files_ and then populates those taxonomies.

The meta data must be embedded in the files via a DAM like Adobe Lightroom. The plugin does not purport to extract keyword meta data from anywhere else except files.

Next time, before you write a rant like this please reach out directly and give us a chance to clarify things or help you. If you’d like to send me the file that you think should be working I would be happy to test it for you.

The description says that plugin extracts metadata including keywords. It doesn’t. I specifically uploaded a new file after installing and activating the plugin. The keywords are written simply through the file’s properties feature in Windows Explorer. The only info that the plugin extracted was camera make and model. Neither keywords, nor author, not aperture/shutterspeed/focusing distance info showed up in the corresponding fields.

Like I said, this plugin does work. I’m not sure why your file does not. Could be the way that windows explorer embeds meta data. If you want to send me a file I can test it. Otherwise use a DAM to add the meta data to the file and you should see it working.
