Hello everyone I have a problem and I really hope someone can help me with it.

I built a website using woocommerce and storefront. We tested the paiment method with paypal before putting the website live and everything worked great. Afterwards for a reason that I really don’t remember I unistall and reinstalled the woocommerce plugin but then forgot to change the email listed under paypal account email.

Because of my stupid mistake the orders that were placed are stuck in pending. I verified with the client and the money did leave there account but is now lost in limbo since the e-mail adress that was under paypal doesnt exist. Is there in anyway i can retrieve that money? Or is there a way for them to cancel the order and get there money back? if they used the pay with credit card (without creating a paypal account)?

  • hi,

I think you can try these two things, create another email under your main paypal account, you can use the same API and i think the money should reflect.

Otherwise, you should visit the woocommerce order page and cancel the order as this way you make refund of the purchase. This way the order is cancelled and the money refunded.. (See screenshot: https://snag.gy/oEyXHA.jpg).

Let me know how it goes

The customer should cancel the payment on their end to make sure it’s not stuck in limbo, then retry payment on your site.

Hopefully that helps! Have a great one!

Thank you everyone one for your answers. The reimbursment work for one of the customer but not the other two.If I did refund them already can they still cancel it by the website or do they need need to call their credit card company?
