    Good afternoon,

I’m noticing an error on the screen where all orders with related receipts and invoices are issued. Why doesn’t the invoice / receipt numbers on the order page correspond to the real numbers which are then exact in the pdf file? How can I solve Thanks in advance

Could you post some screenshots for reference? You can use imgbb.com or imgur.com to upload images.

This is the order made to a person and as you can see the numbering is different. It is the first invoice ever and starts from 3 instead of 1.

Thanks for sharing that. It looks like you are using two documents, “Invoice” and “Receipt”. “Receipt” is not from our plugin (possible from WooCommerce PDF Invoices Italian Add-on?), and our plugin only shows the invoice number in that column. I recommend reaching out to the plugin developer of the Ricevuta plugin to ask how they generate the invoice numbers and how to prevent a regular invoice from being created if a receipt is created.

    Hi, thanks for the reply.

The plugin you are talking about is used simply because it allows you to choose at the time of billing if the customer wants to proceed as a private individual or gives the possibility to insert the VAT number. On the page of the plugin itself, it recommends that you support your plugin for the management of invoices and receipts, so I don’t think that plugin manages the numbering. But do invoices and receipts have a continuous numbering or are they separate? How can we solve it? Thank you!

Yes, for questions about the core functionality you can always ask us. But our plugin does not generate the Receipt, nor does it assign a number to it. Your screenshot shows that the ‘missing’ number 2 is assigned to the receipt, whereas the invoice has number 3. This makes me suspect that the receipts use the invoice number sequence, but you will need to ask that to the support of the receipts plugin.

I partially solved the problem by assigning letter b to the invoices and letter c to the receipts. How come now the numbering on the pdf is correct but in the order screen they are still wrong? Am I wrong? I read that the plugin you mentioned above does not manage the numbering but only the insertion in the VAT number or tax code form.

The “3B” in the screenshot in the order overview is the Invoice number. The PDF you showed was a Receipt. These are two different documents, each with their own numbers. It seems that this particular order has both an invoice (3B) and a receipt (2b).

I don’t know where the Italian Add-on generates the Receipt number, but it certainly looks like it’s using the invoice number sequence for this.
