• I’m attempting to post entries that are back-dated. I do know how to change the Publication Date in the Edit screen and have successfully done so. However, when the post is saved, the Publication Date turns into the current date, and this current date shows on my entries when what I want is the back date (say, April 15, 1961). The current date also shows in the console in the right-hand sidebar where it says: Published on:, however, when you click Edit there and it opens up, it shows the correct date April 15, 1961 in the sliding dropdown.

I’ve got the correct time zone offset already set in Settings. That isn’t the problem.

The same date problem occurs even when using the Default WordPress theme, so the theme isn’t the problem.

I am using the SIMILE Timeline plugin. Deactivating the plugin does not affect the date displayed on the post, so the plugin is not the problem, and I have no other plugins that should affect the Date display, either on the displayed entry or inside the Edit Post console.

Try it yourself with WP 2.8.x… back-date an entry to 1973 or whatever and watch what gets displayed in the Edit Post screen as well as on your blog post. I haven’t tried a future date, so I don’t know if the same problem exists for that.

Please help me fix this. Or ask someone who is working on the Core code to look into this and fix it up in the next bug release.

    Thanks.
