    Hi,

I know this has been asked before and I think I have read all the post in this forum about it. But I can not figure this out so I will ask my own question. My canonical url says https://www.example.com/news even if I am on page 1,2,3 or whatever. The URL says https://www.example.com/news/5 with the correct page number, and if I disable Yoast Seo the canonical is correct.

I have been through the settings and tried to change it manually for the news page. If I change it there to https://www.test.com it will be changed to that. I have used the Yoast Test Helper plugin and followed some guides from this forum. I have also tried some codes and filter that I have found in forums, but no luck.

What may be my next step?

    Hello @sikth,

Thanks for reaching out about the wrong canonical URL in your paginated archives. Please try these steps:

    1. Install & activate the Yoast Test Helper plugin
    2. Go to Tools > Yoast Test
    3. Locate the Yoast SEO section and click on the ‘Reset indexables tables & migrations‘, ‘Reset Prominent words calculation‘, and ‘Reset Internal link counter‘ buttons. After each click, the page will reload to confirm that the specific reset was successful.
    4. Go to SEO > Tools, and under SEO data, click the “Start SEO data optimization” button to allow Yoast to rescan your content.

Please let us know if the reported issue remains after resetting the optimized data.
