• I have four copies of WP up and running successfully (2.0.5), and yesterday I just installed another copy (version 2.1) and I’m experiencing two problems which I suspect are related somehow. First the new install does not show up under my cpanel as installed (but I can view my site and log onto the WordPress administrative page(s). Second, when I attempt to write a blog entry, it will allow me to enter a title, but when I attempt to place the cursor inside the “post” field to begin writing my entry, it will not allow me to type anything (won’t even show a cursor inside the field no matter how many times I click!). Has anyone ever run across this problem? I hope so–I need a solution (which hopefully doesn’t contain the words ‘reinstall’). Thanks everyone.

  • For your number 2, I wonder if it’s in anyway related to the problem fixed on this changeset, even though the original problem was very small type font in the ‘post’ field:

Hi Michael, thanks for the info. What file does that code get added to and where inside the file? Thanks.

It always says exactly, just go back and check on that site:
Files = the name of the file (and the directory where it is)

and the numbers = line numbers; the red means it’s deleted, the green means it is “in”.

Problem resolved. I’m not sure what the cause was on the first matter but it seemed to take care of itself. The blog entry problem however was resolved by simply logging out and then logging back in. I suspect that it was caused by a built-in time-out mechanism that was purposely engineered into the 2.1 version of the program.
