Write Toolbar Disappears

    Hello all,

    When I go into my “Write Post” or “Write Page” page in the admin panel my rich text editor toolbar does not show. I see the tabs for “Visual” and “Code” but there is no bar below that with all the quicklinks.

    Now here is a weird twist. I have in total 10 plugins activated. If I disable ANY one of those plugins, the problem goes away. At first I thought it was related to the WP-Email plugin as I noticed it after I installed that, but really it doesn’t matter which plugin I disable, the problem goes away. But I don’t want to have to disable any so any help with this problem is greatly appreciated.

    I just upgraded to 2.2.3 and the problem still persists. I also added another plugin (Maintenance Mode, for the sake of the upgrade) and so now I have to deactivate ANY 2 plugins to get back my visual editor.

    Can anyone help me. This problem has got my head in a knot.

    Ok I got the problem resolved so for anyone that may have this problem in the future. It is a simple matter of having your host increase the PHP memory limit. My host limited it to 8MB, once they bumped it up to 16MB the problem went away.

    I just had the same problem.
    1. Go to plugins and deactivate 1 or 2.
    2. Go to WRITE and your toolbar sholud be back
    3. Go back to PLUGINS and reactivate them all.

    The toolbar sholud still work right.

    Weird… =S

    The PHP memory limit is not the problem. I just checked mine and it is 20 MB.

    The toolbar is working fine on an older version of WordPress on a different domain that I have and it also has a PHP memory limit of 20MB.
