    Hi.
First of all, thank you for a great plug-in, it’s my no. 1 preferred backup choice and works perfectly. Except for one purpose, and I can’t find any setting to deal with it. The purpose is for a few testing sites I have, for testing themes, plugins and various settings.

Problem is: I have a backup that I would like to return to, after doing some tests. With base settings, theme and plugins. But if I install new plugins or themes, they are still present after restoring, deactivated though. I guess there is a rational reason for this, but is there any way to avoid it with Wpvivid?

I just did a test with Updraft, and it seems to be able to restore totally, without leaving plugins and themes added since last backup. The easy solution is of cause to use that for my test sites, and keep Wpvivid for the live sites (where it works perfectly) – but I would like to use Wpvivid for my test sites as well, if possible.

    Hi @tdhansen1

Thanks for reaching out to us.

To restore totally with the free version, you will need to create a new site or reset the entire site before performing the restore. The pro version comes with an option of database reset before the restore, which is actually a developer feature.

    Thanks,

    All the best,

    OK, that makes sense.
As the pro version would be a bit overkill for just a testing site, I will either use a reset plugin before restoring, or another backup option for the purpose.

    Thanks for a fast answer!

Al the best for you too.
    /Thomas
