• I have been using WPTouch Pro for the last year or so and have not had any problems with it. Recently, they came out with a new version that broke the shortcode support for my inFocus theme. Shortcodes worked fine with WPTouch Pro Version 3.7.7. They no longer work with this theme in Version 3.7.9 or 3.8.1.

I contacted WPTouch support to get the problem fixed. After 24 hours all I got was a response that the shortcode function does not work with all themes, given the differences on how themes work.

I then asked for some documentation that I could pass along to the theme developers on how the WPTouch Pro handled shortcodes, so that my theme developers could make any changes necessary to get it to work with WPTouch Pro. I got absolutely no response to this.

The support provided for this paid plugin is definitely subpar (if that) compared to what I have seen from other WordPress commercial suppliers.

I’m not a big fan of responsive themes (I personally believe that a mobile site needs a lot of customization to be effective). WPTouch’s days seem to have passed. Does anyone have any better options?

  • The first option in Core Settings is a checkbox to handle shortcodes, and it’s not checked by default. That might fix your issue.
