WPSC mod_rewrite -OR- root .htaccess file???
-
Upon installing, I get this message:
WP Super Cache is activated, but either you are not using WPSC mod_rewrite to serve cache files or the WPSC .htaccess code was NOT found in your root .htaccess file.
If you are not using WPSC mod_rewrite then just add this commented out line of code in anywhere in your root htaccess file – # WPSuperCache. If you are using WPSC mod_rewrite and the WPSC htaccess code is not in your root htaccess file then click this Update WPSC link to go to the WPSC Settings page and click the Update Mod_Rewrite Rules button. If your root .htaccess file is locked then you will need to unlock it to allow WPSC to write its htaccess code to your root htaccess file. Refresh your browser to perform a new htaccess file check after updating WPSC mod_rewrite.I switched to mod_rewrite…but then my WPSC pages did not match. So I switched back.
What does it mean to “add this commented out line of code in anywhere in your root htaccess file – # WPSuperCache”?
How do I unlock my root .htaccess file?
It would be nice if you included a simplified instruction on “installation” page.
