I am using several widgets (WPPA+ Search Photos, WPPA+ Last Ten Photos, WPPA+ Photo Of The Day). The normal view is OK, but when I click on a widget the result is always a blank web page. The web page is correct, but there is no content; i.e. the detail of the widget is missing like the search result or the photo with the description.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Is this a new installation or did it change after updating to version 8.x

    Hello Jacob
It is an application that has been running for half a year. I am not sure, but I think the problem occurred after the update to the 8.0.02. I mean I still did a photo search with the previous 8 version and it worked.

Please verify the content of the page Ansichtskarte des Tages.
The first (and likely only) wppa shortcode should read:

    [wppa type="landing"]

    Hello Jacob
I have made the change. But it had no effect. The entry was already very old. The others (WPPA + Last ten photos, WPPA + search phots) only has the text [wppa type=landing]. Strangely, the code is directly and not embedded in a shortcode block. I changed that, but also without success. Then I deleted the widget and the web page from the photo of the day and then put the widget back in the sidebar. The corresponding web page was generated automatically (only WPPA shortcode without wrapping shortcode) but still only a blank page was called when clicking on the photo.

I found what the issue is, and that is the good news.

    The following link works:

    https://cards2see.de/foto-des-tages/wppaspec/oc2/pt7456

This means that the landing shortcode on the Foto des Tages page is not the first, but the second on the webpage ( /oc2/ rather than /oc1/ ).

However, i see no first wppa activity in the page source; it could be that there is somewher a shortcode before the landing shortcode that leads to no output (but increments the internal counter).

For certain widgets there is the setting ‘occur’ on the Basic settings -> Links -> III page, but not for the photo of the day.

If you can find the ‘dummy’ shortcode, remove it. Otherwise i will have to add the selectable occur also for the other widgets.

download it and install by New plugin -> Upload andclick the ‘Replace current with download’ button

    Hello Jacob,
Thank you for your quick support. I have tried the new version but unfortunately with the same result. I found the problem after some searching though. I have installed another plugin “All in One SEO”. But I did not set the problematic pages in terms of SEO. The result was that in the SEO header the WPPA shortcode appeared again and your widgets apparently referenced SEO instead of the displayed web page.

Thanks very much for your work. A very good support.

    Best regards
    Wolfgang

Thanx for this info. I will look if i can find a way to avoid this tampering of the occur counter, so it will not happen in the future.
