WPMU | WPMS Site Logins & Admin Areas not using SSL
-
Howdy!
First, just wanted to say that I’ve been fighting with HTTPS and WordPress for some time now and your plug-in has gotten me closer than anything else. Thank you for that and the time you’re spending to make this easier for the rest of us.
I’m running MU with sub-directories, WPMUDEVs Domain Mapping Plug-in and the latest version of WordPress HTTPS. Basically, as many have reported, site 1 works great. No problems!
Sub sites, however, are being total jerks.
If a user logs onto the main site at domain.com/wp-admin, HTTPS works, but the moment they try to get to their site dashboard, they’re made to login again via their site at subdomain.domain.com/wp-admin which, regardless of my best efforts, is not HTTPS.So I figured I’ve just have users log into their own dashes directly. Manually typing in https://subdomain.domain.com/wp-admin works and the connection is encrypted, but typing in https://subdomain.domain.com/wp-admin does NOT redirect to https.
I followed the directions for the MU install and have it setup so that the super-admin can control everything from the network dash, but client sites have no access to it. In the network dash, I’ve tried it with just the Force Admin SSL enabled on all sub sites and also enabling Force SSL Exclusively. Neither one works or helps.
Ideally having both options working would be great, but I realize the first issue has little to do with you. ?? The second options though… That SHOULD be working and I have no clue what I’ve done wrong.
Any tips or tricks you (or anyone else) might be aware of?
I feel like I’m almost there. Just missing something really stupid.Thanx and best wishes.
