• Hi,

    I realize there is probably not much interest but I feel I should post about it somewhere, so others might benefit.

    I have a WordPress MU installation running with the Multi-Site Manager plugin from https://wpmudev.org/project/Multi-Site-Manager and https://www.jerseyconnect.net/development/multisite-faq/ to manager several domains.

    The WPMU version was 2.7.1 and the Multi-Site Manager version 0.0.9 when I decided to upgrade WPMU to the latest version 2.8.4a. I did it through the automatic upgrade procedure (yes, risky, i know) and it seemed to go smoothly. Untill I found out that on one of the domains (in fact, on all blogs in that domain) suddenly the Site Admin panel was missing in the back-end! Also, I noticed some strange changes that seemed te be related to double (“) and single (‘) qoutes being escaped with a backslash (\) that would prevent some minor parts (like header backround images) of some blogs to fail.

    When looking in the database table wp_sitemeta I noticed fiels where these quotes where escaped. Among these fields there was one site_admins (with site_id corresponding to the problematic domain) that had these slashes before each quote:
    a:1:{i:0;s:5:\"admin\";}

    This clearly broke the array and after removing them, Site Admin section was back ??
