• I am new to Apache and Word Press. I have reviewed numerous articles on this topic and none seem to be complete on the solution. So let me outline the issue:

We have a word press multisite setup as subdomains.
We need to have separate cPanel accounts for each subdomain.
We have top level domains that need to resolve to each subdomain.

    What I have tried:

    sub-directories
    aliases
    parked domains
    subdomains
    CNAME records
pointing subdomain to main MU root directory

In all of these scenarios I can get the TLD to resolve to the WPMU subsite OR get a cPanel account setup but if I try to do both one seems to break the other.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • You’ll need to talk with your web host about the cPanel accounts if that is even possible or you might ask over on Stack Exchange or a support system for cPanel.

The cPanel works with your Apache or whatever server software you choose so WordPress isn’t involved with cPanel directly but it can be influenced (broken) by the cPanel settings.
