All of a sudden I receive an email from www.remarpro.com:

“Since WordPress 5.2 there is a built-in feature that detects when a plugin or theme causes a fatal error on your site, and notifies you with this automated email.

In this case, WordPress caught an error with one of your plugins, WPForms Lite.
    ]
First, visit your website (https://[mysite]/) and check for any visible issues. Next, visit the page where the error was caught (https://[mysite]/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php) and check for any visible issues.

Please contact your host for assistance with investigating this issue further.

If your site appears broken and you can’t access your dashboard normally, WordPress now has a special “recovery mode”. This lets you safely login to your dashboard and investigate further.

    https://[mysite]/wp-login.php?action=enter_recovery_mode&rm_token=Xy8IUq7bHsSqDEhOaMhKa9&rm_key=l0yvxhQTD6iY1H4Wf4Cfkg

To keep your site safe, this link will expire in 1 day. Don’t worry about that, though: a new link will be emailed to you if the error occurs again after it expires.`

the only thing that I figure that cause it is wpforms caused an error as soon as my theme ‘Neve’ needed an update. why would wpforms throw an error as soon as this happens, it’s not possible to never sleep and watch the screen or a theme suddenly needs to be updated! Im on my site dailyand step away for a few hours ana this happens. Host suggests ditching this plugin, hopefully this not a ploy by wpforms to extort money to upgrade? Anyway ditching this plugin, I would never upgrade if they allow this to happen.

  • Hi @rwalton,

Usually critical or fatal errors on a WordPress site are caused by code conflicts.

In order to narrow down the cause of a code conflict, you should generate a debug log which should contain pertinent information on where the conflict is occurring.

We have information on how a debug log can be generated here: https://wpforms.com/developers/how-to-enable-debugging-in-wordpress/

It should be possible to see which particular plugins or theme is involved with the conflict by looking at the errors generated. If you’re unable to discern anything useful, please feel free to copy and paste the error log here for us to review.

    Kindly,

Hi,I have a similar problem. I have tried re-installing a clean copy; no change…tried to see which plugin may an issue with this one, but again no real result. Below is the only error text I can find easily by de-activating all plugins, otherwise it’s just the white screen of death! I hope someone can help with this.
    Cheers Chris.

    Hi @pteradactyl,

It seems that there is an error causing code conflict with the plugin with the folder “alids”. This should be referring to a plugin called AliDropship.

Based on this, I’d recommend either of the following options:

    1) If feasible, you could deactivate this plugin on your site. Before doing this, it’s a good idea to create a backup of your site (if you don’t have a way do this yet, here are some WPBeginner-recommended options: https://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/7-best-wordpress-backup-plugins-compared-pros-and-cons/).

    2) You could reach out to the plugin’s author/support team to share details of the conflict this plugin seems to be causing. They’d hopefully be able to help!

I apologize for not being able to resolve this directly for you, but I hope this helps to clarify.

    Kindly,

    Hi @pteradactyl and @rwalton,

We haven’t heard back from you in about a week, so I’m going to go ahead and close this thread for now. But if you’d like us to assist further, please feel welcome to continue the conversation.

    Thanks!

Hi thanks for that, I haven’t been able to get anyone to rectify or attempt to find a answer to the problem as yet. I have decided that I will probably opt for a different plugin.Really an inconvenience but I guess it goes with the job! Thanks for at least trying.
    Regards Chris.
