  • Hi @mvfelcaro,

We’re sorry to hear that you’ve encountered spam issues.

If you’re still having spam with reCAPTCHA enabled, you can consider increasing the security level of the reCAPTCHA integration on your site.

For v2 reCAPTCHA, you can do this by going to your reCAPTCHA account. Then in the settings of your current integration, you can adjust the Security Preference slider.

For v3 reCAPTCHA, you can adjust the settings in your WordPress admin area by going to WPForms > Settings > reCAPTCHA. In this Score Threshold field, you can increase the score to a higher number for stricter security.

And if you’d prefer not to use reCAPTCHA, we have another anti-spam protection feature, hCaptcha. This is a good option if you’d prefer not to sign up for Google’s reCAPTCHA service. Within your forms, hCaptcha will display a checkbox asking users to prove they’re human (much like Google’s v2 Checkbox reCAPTCHA). We have a detailed guide for setting up hCaptcha.

Alternatively, you can consider the third-party plugins such as WordPress Zero Spam or Spam protection, AntiSpam, FireWall by CleanTalk which work out of the box to protect your forms against spam.

    Hope this helps!

Thank you very much Henry. Theinformation you sent to me was very helpful. Actually, it made me review the whole process I was following with the form and I did so,me testing and detected that despite what reCaptcha method choose, none of them are working on the WPForm I created (neithe V2 nor V3). I have check if there is some CSS code hidden that could be i,mpacting due to the reCptcha badge is not appearing at all but there is no coed related to reCaptcha. I have also try installing the simple google cptcha plugin and remocing the captcha settings in WPForm but still not working at all. Do you know what could be impacting in order the forms works properly?
    Many thanks,

    Hi @mvfelcaro,

Thanks for checking your set up and providing the additional details.

From what you’ve described, there are two likely scenarios.

One, that the Google reCaptcha was not set up or configured properly. Could you please refer to our documentation here and try setting up reCaptcha again? https://wpforms.com/docs/how-to-set-up-and-use-recaptcha-in-wpforms/

The other possibility is that your site is utilizing some kind of optimization plugin that is affecting the JavaScript on your site or the reCaptcha, causing the issue. If you do have any optimization plugins, please temporarily disable them and test if it helps the issue.

Please let us know how it goes.

In case it also helps, here is our troubleshooting guide: https://wpforms.com/docs/getting-support-wpforms/
