  • Hi there,

The short code working but you have to Enable WP Customer Reviews for actual page.

enable on the actual page to get it working? that’s crazy! ??

this is a HUGE problem, and is getting no support whatsoever…

does not instill any confidence in the Pro product that is meant to be coming!!!

cannot believe there has been no response or fix to this, the developer must be fully aware of the issue

People who were using [WPCR_INSERT] on 2.x without actually enabling the plugin on the page were exploiting a bug in 2.x where [WPCR_INSERT] appears to have psuedo-enabled the plugin for the page, but the checkbox is what should have enabled it.

Going to 3.0, the bug was fixed since WordPress now internally needs to know which pages the plugin was enabled on, and just having the shortcode inside of the page content isn’t the way WordPress does that.

A “fix” could be made by somebody. You would need to make something that goes through all of your post content searching for [WPCR_INSERT] and sets the meta for that page to have WPCR enabled on the page. If somebody wants to do this, go for it ?? If not, I’ll get around to it as soon as I can.

finally, a reply from the author

it’s a shame that this happened and everything goes back manual.

you see i do not insert the shortcode manually to every page. i use a plugin, ALLOW PHP IN POSTS to do that, which by the a way, was a heaven sent because i can simply remove your shortcode from ALLOW PHP once and then everything is cleared out.

had i not do this way, i would have to manually remove the shortcode or implement the suggestion like 500 times since i have a directory-like website ??

You’d have to edit each post anyway to add the business or product name in the WP Customer Reviews section of the post. If you have not added that, people may still be able to leave reviews, but Google won’t see any schema for indexing them. What is your intention for the plugin?

You -could- manually run a database query to enable the plugin on every single post (or post of a certain type) , but that is more advanced.

this is how i use your plugin

    + Product A
    — [WPCR_INSERT] (so people can read and leave reviews)

    + Product B
    — [WPCR_INSERT] (so people can read and leave reviews)
    .
    .
    .
and so on and so forth

i inserted the shortcode progmatically, so that’s probably the reason why the schema aren’t showing for those pages (thank you for those)

but my site is just too huge and i couldn’t see myself editing the pages one after the other. it’s a good plugin though, but not on this current project
