WPCF7_Shortcode is deprecated since Contact Form 7 version 4.6!

  • With this plugin active, when debug mode is enabled, this message appears several times on the page, or fills up the error log:

    Deprecated: WPCF7_Shortcode is deprecated since Contact Form 7 version 4.6! Use WPCF7_FormTag instead. in …\wp-content\plugins\contact-form-7\includes\functions.php on line 351

    The offending line appears to be line 37 of inc\frontend\init.php:

    
$tag = new WPCF7_Shortcode($tag);

    This was raised over a year ago, and Contact Form 7 was released 4 years ago, so I don’t know why this hasn’t been fixed yet.
