Today, I ran updates for WordPress 4.7 on all my sites. I only had one problem. That was with WPCasa Penthouse. Properties will no longer display and when you go to the LISTINGS panel in the dashboard, there is nothing. Looking into MySQL, I can find all the property_id in the meta_key column, so they still exist.

Back in July we upgraded our site using the WPCasa Legacy plugin. That’s when Properties changed to Listings. I’m not sure why that was necessary, since WPCasa still calls them properties??? Anyway, I can’t find anywhere in the cms where I can change this, and wondering why everything was working fine until I updated WordPress. I did not change any plugins. In fact, turning off plugins that say they are not tested with 4.7, doesn’t change anything.

    Thoughts?

    Hello,

just wanted to make sure everything is working fine now, right? If there is anything else just lets stick to the ongoing thread in our support center.

Sorry for the late reply this morning. It’s a whirlwind here … Joe, you guys are super heroes! The hotfix plugin did the trick. The only issue I had was the individual property pages were returning a 404 … until I made a text edit on one page. Once I updated that page, ALL pages linked. I don’t know technically how that fixed the 404, but the site is 100% and you guys are simply amazing!! Thank you so much. I have a happy client now!!

Do we know if there are any problems for Legacy WP CASA sites NOT using the legacy plugin?

    Hey everyone,

I too ran into the same problem. WordPress updated itself on Hostgator and now all of my properties / listings do not show up. Is there any way to get a hold of the plugin / hot fix to install on the site? Please help! Thanks!

    Hey everybody,

To solve this issue please simply install and activate this Hotfix Plugin. This Plugin is ONLY for the old version of wpCasa (wpCasa Theme Framework where the latest version is 1.3.9 and DOES NOT work with the current WPCasa Plugin – tough there is no issue with the new WPCasa Plugin at all).

    All the best,
    Joe [WPCasa]

    Joe,

I installed the plugin and now the listings show up. However, when I click on the listing on the homepage, I get a 404 error.

Try for yourself to see what I mean. Click on any of the listings and you will get the 404 page.

    Thanks for your quick response.

    Hello,

please simply re-save your permalinks from WP-Admin > Settings > Permalinks. This is basically the way 80% of those 404 errors can get fixed (since the htaccess file gets updated in the background).

    All the best,

Hey guys, all I had to do was update one property page and that “fixed” all the permalinks. I just changed some text, clicked the update button and when I went to visit site, everything was visible again. The only other thing I found was one feature image was missing. I just had to add it back from media. No problem and everything is 100% working again.

    Thanks Joe!!!

    Hey Matt,

I’m really glad that everything is back to normal for you. ??

    All the best,
    Joe [WPCasa]

Thank you Joe for the speedy response and quick and easy hotfix.
Used it on several sites, only a couple had problems. These were the ones with the wpCasa Labels plugin. Had to change the name of the plugin but no problem.
Anyone using the wpCasa Labels plugin would recommend deactivating BEFORE doing the wordpress upgrade.

    Hello @mibut1958,

glad that I could be of some help for you.

What issue exactly you had with that plugin? Does it now work again or do you still have an issue? I guess there might be an issue ‘before’ the upgrade but after applying the hotfix plugin also the labels plugin (among other plugins from us) should work as usual, or am I wrong?

    All the best,
    Joe [WPCasa]

    Hi,

I’m sorry for reviving an old thread (don’t know if I should have opened a new one) but I’m facing a similar issue.

When WordPress 4.7 was first released my listings disappeared (just as the others user have reported), so I downgraded to a the previous version.

I found this post yesterday and it has work wonders, I’ve been also able to fix the permalink issue following your recommendations.

But I’m facing a different “bug” now. You can check my site https://ponfecasa.es and click on any property. You’ll see that it only shows a featured image and the description text. No map, no details, no galley, no contact info, etc.

Your theme is great and I know that you took a new path with your new plugin the past summer. But we run our family business under your old theme and would love to continue using it (and changing all our listings to another theme would be a total pain too).

Hope you can help us find a fix and sorry for my bad English,

    Yours sincerely,

    Luis.

FIXED IT! The single listing widgets had been removed. Sorry!

    Hello,

yes, in some cases they disappear with the upgrade to WP 4.7 too. Glad you found the solution by yourself.

    All the best

I am late to the discovery of this problem. I just upgraded to WP 4.8 and had not upgraded for at least a couple of years.

I am using WPCasa Theme and Paraiba child theme. After upgrading WordPress there are no listings but found out the hotfix has fixed that problem.

I upgraded the WP Casa Theme to the latest version available with is 1.3.7 and there is no Paraiba child theme available anymore. I tried resaving the permalinks several times and changed the setting back and forth but still get the 404.

Is there any way to fix this? Plus I guess I need to upgrade WP Casa but now there is nothing with the same beauty of design that I have with the Paraiba theme and I am also concerned I would need to start over customizing the design.
