• I am running a site with WordPress 5.0.3, Bridge Theme and WPBakery Page Builder. I installed the “Classic Editor” plugin to disable the Gutenberg Editor, which I have done on other sites with other themes and page builders. On this installation, when I edit a page, I still get the button for “Gutenberg Editor”. Yes, I checked the setting to make sure “Classic Editor” is selected.

I don’t know if it’s an incompatibility with the Bridge theme or the WPBakery Page Builder, but I’m posting this on both.

In the meantime, I’ll switch to another plugin to disable Gutenberg to see if that works.

  • Hi Terry, did you find another plugin that will disable Gutengerg in the Bridge theme? I’m having the same problem.

Hi, I installed “Disable Gutenberg” and the button was still there on the post/page edit screen. So, on a test page, I click on it, and it turns out that while the button was there, and was clickable, it still brought up the classic editor. So now I don’t know if that same was true with the “Classic Editor” plugin. I’ll have to try it out. On another theme I use (Divi), I’ve used the “classic editor” plugin, and that button is not displayed. So, I’m guessing it’s a Bridge or WPBakery issue, but as long as the button doesn’t actually bring up Gutenberg, I guess it’s ok. It would be less confusing not to have it there though. I warned the owner of the website not to use it anyway.
