    Hi all,

It took us some time, a lot of time, but we’re back. We do know PHP, but have been struggling a lot with getting SVN working and that’s just what we need to update our code on the plugin repo. So sorry if you feel let down by us. Know that we are back in full control over the plugin.

This first release of 2022 is aimed at fixing pressing issues. The most important being full support for WordPress 6.0 and PHP 8.*

Next to that, we have been working hard at supporting special characters. So feel free to test that and provide us with feedback about characters and/or character combinations that are still an issue. We need samples in order to improve our filters.

We have also improved support for popular page builders. This means that in page editor mode, you will not see SEO Auto Linker at work as that might cause issues when saving your page.

Another handy update is support for your current SEO plugins. We do this with a little JS magic in the WordPress backend. As soon as we spot another SEO tool, the link to our settings page will be added to that menu. This way you have everything nicely in place.

We have received a few requests in the past to start supporting stats and make a pretty user interface. That’s not something on our agenda. Clicktracking takes a huge performance hit on your database. Please just use Google Analytics or Matonomo to gather and evaluate your stats. We really try to keep it light for your website. The same goes for creating a pretty interface. That would introduce huge heaps of code that your website needs to run while editing your settings. Though this is not a huge performance dip for your website, it does increase security risks. So that’s a no-go for now.

Any feedback, function requests? Let us know!
