• I have a very strange problem that has been perplexing me for months now.

Every Saturday morning (Pacific Time, USA) my site stops showing my posts and we simply see the nothing found message. The site is up and running and the page is formatted correctly, but there is not main content.

I go to my hosts server and use phpMyAdmin to access the database and I find that wp_posts is busy. I select it and repair it and it comes right back to life and works fine.

I’m at a loss to find any process that runs weekly on Saturday mornings. This is driving me crazy, and I’d welcome any ideas on where to look or otherwise resolve the issue.

    Thanks,

    Dan

  • Anything server side that runs processes around that time? Automated backups? Site link checking? Security scans? Anything happening thats noted at that approximate time in your server logs?

Thanks for replying. I’ve checked a number of such things. I have daily backups running, in more than one way, but the problem only occurs on Saturday. So far I haven’t been able to see anything in the server log —?at one point I thought it might be connected to some IPs that appeared to be scanning the entire site, and in some cases I banned them.

In specifically interrupts this one table (wp_posts) within the database, and no others hang.

Have you tried to recreate your site on a dev/test environment and see if it happens there? This is bizarre behavior.
