Hi. This plugin has been great for cleaning out orphaned wp_options entries, so than you for that.

However, I have come across one entry that the plugin doesn’t seem able to delete, or even change the autoload status: fernleafsystems\wordpress\plugin\shield\controller\controller. It’s an old option from the Shield Security plugin that didn’t delete when Shield was uninstalled. Can you think of a reason why Advanced DB Cleaner wouldn’t be able to delete or change this wp_option entry? I’ve asked this question on the Shield Security support forum also.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Dear @jeffersonpowers,

Thank you for reporting this issue. Indeed, there is a small bug in the plugin that prevents deleting some options containing special characters.

If you have access to your phpMyAdmin, you can delete it directly from there.

This issue will be fixed in the next version.

    Kind regards,
    Younes

Fantastic. I will keep an eye out for that update.

I’m experiencing a similar problem. Do you have a release date in mind for the fix @jeffersonpowers ? I’ll use phpMyAdmin for now.

    Hi Nic,

I’m currently in the process of rebuilding the entire plugin and adding new features, so the next version will take some time to be released. You can expect it in about 2-3 months.

In the meantime, using phpMyAdmin is a good workaround for such options.

Hi — I just tried the new release of the plugin, but I’m still not able to delete the autoload option I mentioned in my original post. Is this something that will be fixed soon? I have to clean this option from around 20 websites across multiple hosting accounts, so using the plugin would be a lot easier than going into phpMyAdmin for each one.

    Hi @jeffersonpowers,

I’ve addressed some issues in the latest update, including fixing deprecated warnings. However, deleting options with special characters still needs some work. I’m on it and will include a fix in an upcoming update soon.

    Thank you for your patience.
    Younes
