wp_list_pages target=_blank

  • why does wp_list_pages create links with target=_blank, and how can i prevent that, short of stripping them out?

    i am using wp_list_pages in a shortcode, which is used on this page as well as in a sidebar widget on the home page https://mycascadescenter.org

    the sidebar widget links do not have target=_blank, but those in the problem page do, even tho my shortcode explicity strips them…wtf????

    also sort_column=menu_order doesn’t work:-\

    and on https://mycascadescenter.org/activities/ the links don’t have target=_blank
