wp_list_cats with count (optioncount) within the link

    Hello there,
    For the navigation of my blog I am using the function wp_list_cats (I know this function is out of date, but I still use WP 2.5.1 so it is no problem. Upgrade to newer WP version will follow..). The option ‘optioncount’ adds the number of posts in each category in brackets behind the link. Now I’d like to have the brackets and the number within the link. Is this possible?

  • Hi, I was trying to do the same exact thing, so even if this thread is a month old, I just though I still post a link to where I found an answer.

    Perhaps not the “best” way? But it works, I’m not a big fan of doing changes to that sort of files though. But it works great at least.

    Wow, I didn’t expect an answer to this thread anymore. Thank you a lot! It now works very properly for my blog as well:)
