WP5.9, Enfold, CF7 and Akismet error

    Hi,

    When using WordPress 5.9, theme Enfold and trying to send a message via Contact Form 7 it throws an error (nothing specific). Akismet works great with other themes and WordPress 5.9 but apparently not with Enfold (latest version of course).

    Could you check things out?

    Other active plugins: WordFence and Yoast (when disabled ContactForm7/Akismet still throws errors)

    UPDATE: CF7 error is also present in Ewebot theme.

    I don’t have access to either of those themes; what error message are you seeing? If it’s generic, are you able to view your error log to get the specific error?

    Hi Christopher,

    That’s the crazy thing; an error isn’t shown (also not in the error logs). CF7 just shows ‘error’ when trying to send the form.

    For some reason Akismet just blocks the message.
    I can send you the Enfold theme if you want.

    PS; i believe the new code (theme and wordpress) needed to settle in order for things to work properly. I also believe that my test e-mails (actually my name and emailaddress) were marked as spam.

    I was able to get a copy of the latest version of Enfold, and when using the latest versions of WordPress, Akismet, and Contact Form 7, I didn’t encounter any errors when filling out the form.

    Can you email a screenshot of the contact form template and a screenshot of the error you see after submitting it to [email protected]?

    A couple of hours after upgrading to WP5.9, akismet marks all messages sent via CF7 as spam. After around 6 hours, after upgrading to WP5.9, Akismet performs like it used to.

    There are no errors (not in the logs or anything else except for CF7). CF7/Akismet throws an English error even when language is set to Dutch.

    Error in CF7: Error. Failed to send your message. Please try again later.
