wp125 plugin not displaying ads

I’ve loaded the wp125 plugin and it displays the plugin, but once I add the image link and URL etc, save it, check it, I see the ads are not displaying, just a red cross and alt= “name of ad” next to it. The link still works when I click on it.
I’m using WP v3.1.2 and the Woodsy theme.
Help please ??
