WP writing into SQL database?

Will WP insert new entries into my SQL database after the initial installation of a WP version? I’ve found a lot of new entries in my SQL database that I didn’t insert. My web host’s tech support said a developer might be able to insert new entries to update plugins or themes to retain their license. One of the new entries in my wp_options table had a option_name that included _update_plugins. The rest of the new entries related to _site_transient_browser, _timeout_feed, _dash, and _transient_is_multi_author. At this point, I am the only one who has the login information for my site.
