This has become a near-daily task over the past month. It crashes and I run the repair, then the next day it crashes again. What is causing this and how can this be prevented. It’s painful to have to fix this so often.

    SELECT MAX(attackLogTime)
    FROM wp_wfHits
    + Toggle button
    wordfence::veryFirstAction()
Plugin: wordfence Table ‘.wordpress/wp_wfHits’ is marked as crashed and should be repaired 145

  • Hi @rogue3ky,

I’m sorry to see that you’re having to deal with repairing crashed tables — that’s annoying when you only have to do it once!

Can you please provide more information about how you’re performing the repair? Did this behavior start after performing any updates or adding new plugins?

Also, please go to Tools > Diagnostics and click “Send Report by Email” and fill in [email protected] for the email address and add your forum username to the Forum Username field. I’ll let you know once I’ve received it.

    Thanks!

HeidiSQL database editor. I use the maintenance option (Tools->Maintenance->Repair (quick)) to repair any database errors.

The table was crashed again this morning so I sent the report while it was crashed.

I don’t recall when this behavior started, maybe consistently 1-2 months ago. I don’t think I’ve installed anything new, although there are always updates for plugins and WordPress.

    Hi @rogue3ky,

Do you also have access to your MySQL logs, both error and the slow query logs if available? If so, could you send me a copy of today’s logs and your site’s PHP log for today if available (archived, please) to the email address above?

We’ve received the diagnostic report and are looking over it as well.

    Thanks!

    Hi @rogue3ky,

Since we haven’t heard from you for a while I’m going to go ahead and resolve this thread. If you have any other questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to open a new one.

For the benefit of anyone else reading this thread, if you have problems with crashing MySQL tables it can often help to swap database engine from MyISAM to InnoDB as the latter tends to be more stable.
