    Hi,
I like your plugin a lot and most of all, the fact it generates SVG avatars. On other hand – I still want my users to be able to upload their own avatars. After trying a few plugins, I chose WP User Avatar for the functionality. Unfortunately it looks like it doesn’t play well with Leira Letter Avatar. Would it be possible to fix that issue ?
Btw., I think it would be far better if you extend your plugin to a fully functional avatar manager that offers functionality similar to WP User Avatar too.

    Greetings,
    Georgi Georgiev

    Hi @joroabv
Can you describe the issue you are having? So I can have an starting point to check it.
Thanks for sharing your idea. In fact is something I think about a while back and I decided not to add such funtionality to this plugin. Just to keep things modular.
Instead I have been working in other plugin that do something similar to wp user avatar.
Unfortunately, is not ready yet ??

Well … simple – as soon as I enable WP User Avatar it overtakes. So :
    – users with avatars get their WP User avatars displayed – this is ok
    – users without avatars get the default WP User Avatar displayed and not the letter avatars – this is not ok … at least this is not what I’m trying to achieve :-).

“Instead I have been working in other plugin that do something similar to wp user avatar” – looking forward to it. Any beta ?? ?

    I understand the situation.
Allow some time to check the problem and determine the best approach to solve it.

No beta yet, still work in progress ??

    Hi @joroabv

I found the solution to the problem.
Basically WP Avatar is missing a call to a filter tha Leira Letter Avatar uses to work correctly. I opened a support thread explaining the problem and the solution. I give you the link in case you want to also comment and get more attention from the developer.

In case you dont want to wait for them to fix the problem, you can do this.
I noticed that if you save the settings in “Avatars” > “Settings” (which are wp avatar settings) or in “Setting” > “Discussion” that will cause that Leira Letter Avatar setting “Enable use of letter avatar” get unchecked.
So everytime you save one of the above setting i describe go to leira letter avatar settings page and enable the option mentioned.
That fixed the problem for me and allowed me to use both WP Avatar and Leira Letter Avatar.

    I hope it helps

Thanks a lot. I will try it out. I also noticed that something changes in settings unattended, but couldn’t figure out what’s happening. Hope the guys at WP User Avatar fix this.
