WP User Avatar, same developer but still

  • The fork is nice, this developer also maintains ProfilePress, which we all know as WP User Avatar.

    I am still not feeling completely at rest. Lets say my guard is very much up.

    Hi opicron. The developers of ProfilePress are not involved in the maintenance of this plugin. You have probably seen the original authors of WP User Avatar listed under contributors. That is because when forking open source code the original developers still maintain authorship of the original code, which includes ProfilePress, and it is common courtesy to list them under contributors. Sorry about the misunderstanding. Open source copyright can be confusing, especially when forking projects.
