WP Update: New version screen does not appear

  • I state that I have other sites with no problems. But on this site, too many updates do not get the new version screen. The update seems to stop downloading. when after a long time I update the page shows me the new version, but I suspect that not everything went well.
    If I try to reinstall, I have the same problem.
    How can I make sure everything has gone well?

  • Hello, Gianluca, & welcome. I viewed the source of your site, & it appears your WordPress version is indeed 4.9.1, which is the latest & greatest, at least for now :).

    There are several ways to troubleshoot website problems. Sometimes, in your hosting provider’s control panel, there is an aplet called ‘Error Logs’ which will allow you to view any errors your site might be throwing. Also, your web folder, as well as plugins & theme subfolders, might contain a file called error_log or error.log. If these contain recent entries, they may also be able to help determine if the site is having difficulties, as well as what those problems are. You can feel free to post your log here, or there is an Italian support forum located at:

    where folks might be better able to translate any error log entries you may have.

    Additionally, sometimes changing the wp_debug constant in your wp-config.php file to ‘true’ & then logging into your site can display errors your website might be experiencing. This is a security risk, so please change it back to ‘false’ once you’ve gotten the information you need. Again, you may wish to post those messages as above.

    Hopefully this will prove of some assistance in troubleshooting this for you.
