• Wanted to know the following:

    – How do you determine if you need a new theme for a WP site?
    – Do various themes have different functionality?
    – Reason for the question is I’m not an expert on WP or even
know much at all…My WP theme that I use now has some
concerns with plugins that I have
    – Last question is if I’m not using or have some of my plugins
deactivated, should I delete them or keep them deactivated

Thanks and I’m lost on this….Ken

    – How do you determine if you need a new theme for a WP site?

This is relevant to circumstances in context, there is no absolute answer.

Do various themes have different functionality?

Yes, some themes have built-in features that would otherwise require additional plugins. Some themes specialise in responsive design and some don’t.

if I’m not using or have some of my plugins
deactivated, should I delete them or keep them deactivated

If you’re bothered about page-load times, you should delete them.

Any suggetions on Themes that have better functionality and security…Thanks Ken

Better than what? Those are subjective terms. All the themes on this site have been tested and approved to meet WP standards. As for functionality, you’ll have to look and read about each one to see what it does.

Security — make sure your version of WP is current and same for whatever theme and plug-ins you are using. This may be helpful as well:
