• First, I’m not sure which version of wordpress i’m using. I went to www.remarpro.com and downloaded it about a week ago, so I’m assuming it’s the latest version.

I browsed through the wp themes directory and found a theme I want to use. It’s called sliding door. I downloaded it to my computer. I opened FileZilla and connected to the server. I uploaded the folder “sliding door” into the wpcontent/themes folder.

When I return to my wordpress dashboard, I click the appearance menu on the left and the themes manager screen comes up automatically. The only themes I see are classic and default.

There are no error messages anywhere that I see. Why isn’t it showing up???

  • Do you mean that the theme preview is not showing it or that you’ve uploaded the theme and the theme isn’t even in your collection of themes when you’re browsing for them?

Some themes (maybe it’s some browsers) for some reason don’t work in previews, but work just fine when activated.

    Did you unzip it first?

Also, this theme requires a lot of customization…(check the read me) to use your structure of your site.

I have used that theme in the latest version of wp, and it works fine (I did not customize it, I just checked it out).

    best of luck!!!

I’ve uploaded the theme and it’s not showing up for me to activate or apply it. It’s only showing “classic” and “default.”

I was under the impression that Windows Vista automatically unzips things. The file folder icon on my desktop does not show it as zipped.

Yes, you definitely have to manually unzip the sliding-door theme folder and then you have to upload that them to your domain.

Here’s one of my blogs on my domain that utilizes the sliding-door theme.

(I had to do some heavy tweaking)

The theme won’t show up until you’ve added the sliding-door folder inside the ‘theme’ folder located in your wp-content folder on ftp.

So once you’ve downloaded, do these steps.

Upload to domain’s ftp> look for wp-content folder> then ‘theme’ folder > then dump the contents and go back to your dashboard to see the results and activate the ‘theme’
