WP-theme: Chess

looking good ??

Very nice 3-column theme.

Its on the works, and I would be glad to recieve some critique and ideas for it – ill release it when its done..

Ok, here we go – some critique:

I like the chessy looks of your design.
I don’t like the jumpiness of links/menu items such as “About”, “Test” etc.
Its painful to read jumping texts, and the visual clue is there to confirm I hit hovered the right item.
I like the text to be readable during the whole select, hover and hit process. I realize color shifts other than white, black and grayish would break the whole concept.

Suggestions:
You could shift backgrond/text greys on hover.
You could do what you do now, but let the text stay left aligned.

This theme has great poetential and I really like it so far.

However the way you have the pages, categories and blogroll set up is very bad.This is a 3 column theme but the middle column is taken up by the links sticking out.Plus any content added to the sidebar will start to make this theme look quite messy.

I think the colors and design make this theme stand out so everything else should be SIMPLLE and neat.

Whatever changes you eventually make, please for the love of God do not indent anything in the sidebar.

WordPress theme developers must realize that indentation is not your friend… lol
