• I’m using WP Table Reloaded and would like to add links which open in a pop-up window. I installed the ‘Simple Popup’ plugin but there doesn’t seem to be a way to use that method with the table.

    Any suggestions?

For reference, the page is here:

https://www.somestories.co.uk/wp/repertoire – I’d like each story to open a pop-up window containing a brief synopsis.

  • Hi,

I don’t know how the “Simple Popup” plugin gets called to work on links (and I don’t have the time to take a look right now), but almost certainly you can use it within tables.
If the plugin uses Shortcodes, some minor extra work might be needed though.
So, can you give an example on how you would make “Simple Popup” work outside of a table?

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hi Tobias

    Yes, it uses shortcode:

    [popup url="https://www.popup-url.com"]LINK TEXT[/popup]

    Thanks for your help,

    Sarah

    Hi Sarah,

    thanks for the example.
To use those links, you can simply paste that Shortcode into a table cell and it should be evaluated to a link by the Simple Popup plugin.

If that is not working, can you provide a link to a page with a table where I can see this?

    Thanks,
    Tobias

Ha! That does work Tobias, thank you.

I thought I had to use the ‘insert link’ option in Data Manipulation, I didn’t realise I could input it directly into the table.

    Many thanks, Sarah

    Hi Sarah,

no problem, you are very welcome!

    Best wishes,
    Tobias
