• hi guys
ive just installed the wp supercache plugin but i havent yet switched it on. this is because theres a few things im still unsure about. ive looked elsewhere but still cant find a definitive answer.

    1. i can see advanced-cache.php and wp-cache-config.php in my wp-content folder, were these added when i INSTALLED the plugin or do i need to to delete these two files before i switch it ‘on’?
    2. in wp-config.php, i can see ‘define(‘WP_CACHE’, true); //Added by WP-Cache Manager’ – again, was this line added when i installed the plugin or do i need to delete it before i switch the plugin ‘on’
    3. some documentation i read says i need to make .htaccess and wp-config.php writeable before i switch it on – is this true? and can i make them unwriteable after i have configured the plugin

i have read a few posts about configuring this plugin but im still unsure, please can someone advise me further – regards.
    HH

  • 1) these were added on install and are needed – don’t delete

    2) this also was added on plugin install and is needed – if you ever un-install Super Cache, you would change this to “false”.

3)you will need to chmod these to 666 – switch it on – then chmod back to 644
