I am admin to 8 sites!
All eight after latest update gave me white screen of death!
    Perfect.
I guess something is very wrong in newest version since 8 configurations completely different have the same problem!
Stick to the good one till I found a way to replace it because is recommended by theme!
Maybe you could review what is so terribly wrong with your last version.
Because till now everything was perfect on all 8 sites!

  • Version 1.5.7 of the plugin fixes the problem if you upgrade.

I am having the same problem, and I would disagree that 1.5.7 fixed this problem. I just installed 1.5.7, after deactivating and deleting WP Super Cache a month ago because it just stopped working — and within minutes of activating it, no one could read any pages on our site, unless they are into white on white.

The log is filled with a few hundred of these:
PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on null in /home/x/x/x.com/public_html/wp-includes/cache.php on line 123

@piantadosi – 1.5.7 fixed a different error to the one you’re seeing unfortunately.

Can you reinstall the plugin again, making sure the config file at wp-content/wp-cache-config.php is deleted so it’s absolutely fresh and up to date?

Same thing! Same white screen! Even if completely removed and installed again the white screen of death is there. None of the pages served, no error on pages but PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on null in … . Sadly, I am stick to this till I change all 8 themes!

@mriss71 – what version of WordPress are you using? Do you remember which version of WP Super Cache still worked? Do you remember using 1.5.6?

    Works like a charm!

    I use WordPress 4.8.2
    Version 1.5.6 white screen
    Version 1.5.7 white screen

    Best regards ??
Now I am trying your last one!

Interesting. Here are this things that changed between 1.5.5 and 1.5.6 and I can’t see anything there that would cause this issue except two things:

    1. Try deleting wp-super-cache/plugins/searchengine.php
    2. In wp-cache.php look for line 2497 and remove that whole chunk of code to line 2500. (the “if() {” to the “}”

Try them one at a time to isolate the cause, thanks!

    Dear Donncha O Caoimh
Your plugin is working right now!
    1.5.7.1 works like a charm
    Perfectly I might say …
    Congrats!

Ah ha. I wonder if it was the apply_filters() in wp-cache-phase1.php? That shouldn’t have caused you any problems though but I’m glad it’s working now!
