• Hi
I am always getting the warning message like

Mod Rewrite rules must be updated!

The plugin could not update /home/sitename/public_html.htaccess file: .htaccess not found: /home/sitenam/public_html.htaccess. The new rules go above the regular WordPress rules as shown in the code below.

I even updated the rules manually in the htaccess file but still the same error.

What is the issue? Is it trying to update to the wrong path i.e “/public_html.htaccess” instead of “/public_html/.htaccess”? Is it plugin issue?

  • You found the problem, the path to the .htaccess is incorrect in versions 1.5 and 1.5.1 (missing the “/”). According to other posts here, it’s supposed to be fixed in a release coming out this week.

You can download the development version here, and copy the files over your existing installation of v. 1.5.1 and possibly get a temporary workaround.
