just discovered the cause of a problem i was having with my widgets. i was unable to have any of the changes i made to the widgets show live on the site, so i fiddled around and deactivated all the plugins and reactivated one at a time and tried changing widgets…come to find out its WP super cache that was causing it.

so is this a problem anyone else is having? what can i do to solve this so that i can re-activate WP super cache again?

  • You need to clear the cache when you make changes to your widgets. When testing disable caching “for known users” and then clear the cache when you’re satisfied with the changes to make them “live for everyone” so to speak.

so i have to clear cache EVERY TIME i move around or otherwise make changes to my widgets? this seems like a tedious extra step.

are other people having to do this as well?

just tried clearing the cache to solve this problem…and it did nothing. the widgets still don’t move to their new locations unless i deactivate wp super cache.

Yes, unfortunately there’s no “action” I can hook on to when widgets are updated so the cache can be updated. Try the debug system in the plugin to see what files are deleted when you clear the cache. That should have worked..
