WP Super Cache breaking downloads

Could you please tell me exactly what happens to download links when WP Super Cache is activated?

I get a page can not be found error, but not a wordpress 404. On mobile it Ian just a blank screen, in chrome for Windows it shows the not found error and the link in a default chrom error page.

Could you provide me a download link that I can test? Please have WP Super Cache active so I can see the full results.
