    Jetpack Mechanic ??

This could be caused by a big influx of traffic from an automated scraper mimicking real users and evading GA tracking. We could find out more by taking a closer look at our logs. Could you let me know when this all started? Did the problems start on a specific date? That might help us find out more about the problem.

I am going to check the date but I believe it was beginning January. Nevertheless I think it could be a problem on GA side as well since my SEO expert used tools that show an increase in authority and referrals but they this improvement isn’t being shown in GA…

I just checked and it all started in January, I can’t give you an exact date because Jetpack statistic don’t let me go back that much and compare days…

Thanks for the update! I’ve been reviewing your stats, and they appear to be consistent over the past year or so. I don’t see any major spikes or dips in your visit/visitor counts.

Have you noticed any significant changes in your Google Analytics stats? Have these stats aligned in the past, or have they always varied?

Thanks Ryan, thats nice to know! My Ga an Wp stats have always been kind of the same until January this year. Now Ga shows more or less 20.000 page views less each month. Definitaly something is wrong and it is not registering something…

Any insights on what could be the problem or any other users with the same problem?

    Thanks!

Can you think of any changes you made have made to your theme, to your site, or to your Google Analytics plugin, around that date?

If you do not use a Google Analytics plugin, I’d suggest installing one. The insertion of the tracking code might be better this way. This is a good plugin:

Hi Jeremy, I think the problem might have been just that. I have deleted the code from my theme and I am using a plugin. Nevertheless, in a g+ community a GA expert pointed out to me that the tracking code wasn’t working for my mobile users. And now with the plugin it seems everything works ok now. I am going to observe for a few days!

Great, glad to hear you could find the source of the problem. It goes to show how important mobile readers have become on your site (and everywhere else on the web)!

I’ll mark this thread as resolved. Feel free to post again if the problems come back!
