    Hello,

    since yesterday in the morning (UTC+2) wp-analytics hardly shows any visitors. About one day previously WordPress had been updated to version 6.6 and wp-statistics to v. 14.9.1. Below you”ll find the report on the state of the website:

    do you mean that the missing two thirds of daily visitors was the whole time before making your improvements was all bots?

    Hi @rolandmhorn

    Not all two-thirds. After updating the plugin according to the WP Statistics API update to version 2, the site cache should have been cleared, which probably didn’t happen, and the cache was automatically cleared after a while.

    Please note that if your visitors use DNS or AD + Tracker blocking extensions like uBlock, their visits will not be recorded. To resolve this issue, you can use the Bypass Ad Blockers feature in Settings – Basic Tracking.

    Dear Amir,

    In the morning I’ve changed the mode from Client Side Tracking to Server Side tracking. Now the “lost” visitors were showed correctly. After a few hours I’ve enabled Bypass Ad Blockers and while later I’ve changed back to Client Side Tracking. Now the issue was there again. So I’s changed to Server Side Tracking again and the “lost” visitors had been counted again. I’ve read a couple of German Web Sites to the two Tracking-methods and everywhere I read, that the Server Side Tracking is more accurate. So I will use it forth for now. But what shall I do, when version 15 of WP Statistics coming, and the server side tracking is not longer available?

    Unfortunately, in the latest update, an issue has occurred with data recording on some websites when the Tracking Method is set to Client Side Tracking. We are currently working on this issue and will fully resolve it in future updates. Until then, you can set the Tracking Method to Server Side Tracking so that the statistics are recorded correctly.

    Given this issue affecting some websites, we might reconsider deprecating the Server Side Tracking option in version 15.
