WP Smushit does not compress images with WP Stateless

    Reproduce Error:

    1. Enable WP Stateless plugin and WP Smushit (free version) plugin
      Set Mode to Stateless
    2. Enable Smush compatibility setting in Stateless’ settings
    3. Upload new file in Media
    4. Compare file size of image uploaded to the original.
    5. Repeat changing Step 2 to to Ephemeral, then repeat changing to CDN, Backup, and Disabled, etc. (in other words, I tested if the image was smushed on all Modes)

    Expected
    The image size of the newly uploaded file should be compressed and a smaller file size.

    Actual Result
    The new image is exactly the same size (2.6mb) as the original (2.6mb). I also tested smushing the original with TinyPNG and it was smushed to about 900kb (so the image has NOT already been optimally compressed).

    By default the Smush Free won’t compress your original image size, it only compresses the thumbnails generated from WordPress:

    Can you please open the image on the media library and check the Smush status for that image?

    About difference on the Optimization plugins, Smush focus on the image quality and optimization without visible loss the result on plugins are expected to be different depending on the Selected setting and approach.
