WP SMTP – conflict with company email?

    Very newbie question.
    We’re a school that uses our domain name for our email. We use Gmail to handle that.
    In WP Mail SMTP if I designate the same domain to send email from will that in any way conflict with / mess up our day-to-day email system? My IT guy is concerned.
    Thank you for any thoughts.
