• Hi,

I have purchased a domain and set up hosting with freehosting.com. I used the auto-install of WordPress through cPanel and yet when I visit my website and the wp-admin page I get a website with ads but nothing related to my site, and it doesn’t look like the default WordPress page. I have checked with friends and they said they can get to both the site and the wp-admin pages easily. I have cleared the cookies and cache but it hasn’t helped. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    The url is https://www.harryholbrook.com

I have purchased a domain and set up hosting with freehosting.com.

That seems a little contradictory and I really recommend that you stay far far away from any free hosting. It’s just not worth the grief.

and yet when I visit my website and the wp-admin page I get a website with ads but nothing related to my site,

Which really illustrates my point. ??

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

It’s your hosting. I don’t want to get into a hosting topic because moderators such as myself close those when found. Hosting topics get real spammy really quickly.

But it really is your hosting that is the problem. You need to get your host to fix your site.

Thanks for your response. I purchased my domain from a different company to my hosting. I had assumed that the hosting wouldn’t be great but I thought I’d try it out anyway. When my friends said they could access it I thought maybe the host wasn’t so bad but it appears I was wrong. I’ll look into a better host.
