WP Site Down with this fata error

  • I have not worked on or done any updates on a wordpress site in over 2 years. Site was up and working fine. Today it went down with this fatal error:

    Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class WP_Roles in /home/mondrago/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-roles.php on line 26

    I can’t login to the dashboard, but I do have FTP access. Has anyone seen this? Could it be a plugin that is causing this?

    Additional note, my other wordpress sites on the same host and using pretty much the same plugins are not affected by this, just this site.

    Did you ever find a resolution to this? I am experiencing the same issue

    Well, just fixed my issue. Using FTP (Filezilla) I overwrote all the wordpress files EXCEPT wp-content folder and the wp-config file. Hope this helps for you!
