This typically means your theme or another plugin is adding information to the title tag.

In Yoast SEO Settings of the page under “Edit Snipet” please remove the Title or the Site Title from SEO Title.

Just to confirm, the issue has been resolved?

I’m waiting for the SEO title change to propagate in google search.. as of today the site title is still duplicated.

You can confirm whether the title tag is being duplicated in the page by viewing the source code of your page, and then searching for the title tag. We have more information on how to view the source code of a page here: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/view-page-source-site/
