WP Site Architecture Question

    I have a multi site called ‘quotes’ the url of which looks like example.com/quotes/. I have some quotes under them like example.com/quotes/this-is-a-quote.html. I have some authors like example.com/quotes/authors/johndoe/ (where authors are nothing but tag base name). And lastly I have some categories like example.com/quotes/startup-quotes/. All this is running in a multi site.

    How can I replicate this in a normal wp setup (not multisite)? I do not want to change this architecture since the URLs are having good rankings and thousands of ‘social shares’. Please give me some ideas.

    What I have tried?

    Created custom post type with slug ‘quotes’ and created some quotes. I also created custom taxonomy with slug ‘authors’. This should have solved the problem if I could display the authors URL as /quotes/authors/johndoe/.
